Gina & Mark (& Ernie) - London Engagement Shoot

I met up with Gina & Mark and their little pug Ernie not too long ago on a super warm Sunday afternoon for their pre-wedding engagement shoot. They're getting married in Croydon in October with a warehouse vibe so we thought it would be cool to venture around a park for their shoot so they some different images to what we'll take on the wedding day (think more industrial streets and graffiti) I suggested Victoria Park in Hackney as it was fairly easy for them to get too and not too far from me and was pretty chuffed to find out that Gina used to leave near there so had some sweet nostalgia to it too!

Fun Same Sex Barn Wedding - Channels Estate, Essex - Kelsey & Emma

When Kelsey and Emma first got in touch with me about their same sex wedding in Chelmsford, I was so excited – having recently relocated to Australia where Emma is from, they were planning a relaxed barn wedding with an outdoor ceremony, and it was to be my first same sex wedding! Kelsey and Emma are the most fun people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!

Do I need to wear white wedding shoes?

I saw a post in one of those Facebook groups the other week, you know the ones, buy/see/rent/sell your soul for your wedding etc. (don't even try to deny that you haven't joined one, we all know everyone does, even if it's just for the giggles!) But it got me thinking, someone asked if they needed to wear white wedding shoes, someone else asked what shoes to wear with an Ivory wedding dress, someone else was struggling to find "bridal shoes". To me, if a bride wears shoes to her wedding, they're bridal shoes right? So I decided to look through some of my galleries to remind myself what shoes some of my brides had worn and upon further inspection not that many had opted for whatever a traditional white/ivory bridal shoe is meant to be, so here's an idea of what shoes you can wear with your dress!

Alternative Wedding Food Ideas!

Lets be honest, we all know when we go to weddings the food is a big talking point! If it's amazing people will remember for months after, if its bad however they'll remember for years! One thing I'm finding more and more as people are embracing more nontraditional and un-conventional weddings is how can they continue this through with food choices, because a gourmet 3 course meal probably doesn't suit a tipi or a back garden wedding vibe!

Chloe's Afternoon Tea Adventures #4 - Alice in Wonderland

Now, Alice in Wonderland is my one of my favourite books and being a huge Disney fan I loved their adaptation too so I'm always curious when I read the words "Alice in Wonderland Tea". I've actually been to two Alice themed teas previously and I'm always amazed at how differently they're interpreted, plus I must admit, having been to the Narnia tea and been so wowed I had set the bar VERY very high for this tea...

Relaxed DIY wedding at Chichester Village Hall in Godalming – Hattie & Tom

Hattie and Tom got married last July at the lovely Chichester Village Hall, which is a beautiful village hall in Godalming. They had their official ceremony a few days before, which meant they could have a personal celebrant led ceremony at the venue. They chose Chichester Hall, because it has so many options and it cut the budget right down for them. It was a DIY wedding, which I really love because you get that strong sense of family and friends helping out. I love shooting weddings at village halls, because it’s always so chilled and there’s no strict schedule. This hall in particular was lovely and light inside and had a cricket pitch outside which meant plenty of open space to take couple photos.

Little Mermaid Styled Shoot // Joss Bay

Next up in the Disney series is this gorgeous Ariel inspired shoot. This was actually photographed last July, on possibly THE hottest day ever ( I got seriously sunburnt, oops!) But considering we had to change the date the week before due to bad rain we really lucked out!

Inspired by the sea and Ariel getting her feet, we brought different elements from the ocean to create this relaxed beach themed wedding. We picked Joss Bay, in Kent for its beautiful white cliffs and golden sandy beach. This styled shoot is full of totally quirky and relaxed ways to create a fun, nautical and boho take on a Disney themed wedding!
