Colourful Islington Metal Works Wedding

IF YOU LOVE A TONNE OF COLOUR THEN YOU’LL ENJOY THIS SUPER COLOURFUL WEDDING!

Claire and Dave got married at the awesome The Islington Metal Works, London, last September. It was an awesome dinner wedding, with so much colour everywhere and quirky decor.

Getting ready

Claire got ready at home with her bridesmaids, and there was such a relaxed vibe. She wore a 50's style dress with a red petticoat underneath, and looked so cool. The girls then walked the short trip through Clissold Park to get to the ceremony.

Dave got ready at the pub opposite Stoke Newington Town Hall. He wore a navy suit, and looked really dapper. He literally had go cross the road to get to the town hall. Joasis my awesome second shooter for the day got some super cool getting ready shots, I love the shot she took next to the blue shutters.

The ceremony

The ceremony took place at the town hall in Stoke Newington which is just round the corner from where they live. The ceremony area was a beautiful room, which was perfect for the surroundings. The ceremony began with the couple reading their own vows, and finished with a big cheer from everyone. It was a beautiful ceremony, full of lots of cheer and lots of laughter.

After the ceremony, we took a bus through the city to the reception, which was a great idea by the couple. Then I left them to mingle, which was the perfect time for me to get candid photos. The weather was fresh and sunny, it was a beautiful day.

Claire and Dave chose to have their wedding at The Islington Metal Works because it has so many options, and it meant they had a lot less work to do. The Islington Metal Works is a quirky warehouse, and it’s got such a awesome vibe, especially in the main room where the their is a train carriage bar, cool graffitis and lots of options for things to hang from the ceiling.

For the reception, the couple did a shared speech to greet guests on the stage inside for their guests, and everyone really enjoyed it. Guests were then called in for dinner, which was fish & chips. It was gobbled down in seconds by everyone. They had speeches after the dinner, which were really touching.

The evening

After the meal was finished, they cut the cake, and the party got started. The DJ played all the best songs to get everyone dancing. They even had bridesmaids let off confetti canons towards the end of the first dance.

I loved this Islington Metal Works wedding so much. If you’re getting married and looking for a London wedding photographer, get in touch. Here are the photos!
