COLOURFUL ALTERNATIVE WEDDING - PROJECT B, CROYDON

IF YOU LOVE COLOUR THEN YOU’LL LOVE THIS ALTERNATIVE WEDDING!

Gina and Mark got married at the quirky Project B, Croydon, in October. It was a super fun wedding, with succulents all over the tables and colourful decor.

Getting ready

Gina got ready at home with her sister, friend and the couples dog Ernie, and there was such a calm vibe. She wore a dress from Chi-Chi London, Vivienne Westwood shoes and an epic veil from Crown and Glory, and looked so amazing!

Mark got ready at a near by hotel. He wore a suit from M&S with a super cool day of the dead shirt, and looked really cool. The boys travelled to the ceremony on foot, where they headed to the pub for a quick pint! Shortly after Gina and the girls arrived and Gina & Mark had a first look and first pint together which was super cool and definitely relaxed them both ready for the ceremony.

The serious part

The ceremony took place at the town hall in Croydon. The ceremony area was in the clock tower room, which was such a lovely room. It was a super fun ceremony, full of nervous giggles and excited hand squeezes. Ginas sister read the poem, "How falling in love is like owning a dog" as a nod to their obsession with their pug, Ernie.

After the ceremony, we headed to the garden area opposite for group photos and confetti, which was really chilled out. I try to make this the most stress free and quick part of the day as noone wants to be standing around for hours! Guests then walked to the venye whilst we went for couples portraits. I got some awesome portrait photos in front of some mega cool and colourful graffiti – Gina & Mark had made sure to scope out the best route full of super colourful graffiti from the town hall to the venue so we had loads of fun stopping and taking photos (whilst I tried to avoid getting hit by buses!). The weather was all sunshine and blue skies and we had such a giggle walking back after.

The reception

Gina and Mark chose to have their wedding at Project B because it has so many options and it’s near their home. Project B is a super quirky warehouse, with a really awesome feel to it, especially in the main room where the dinner was held. The couple added loads of their engagement photos and photos of Ernie to a big gallery wall to utilise the space they had!

They had decorated the rooms with plenty of halloween and day of the dead themed decor, full of colour to keep it true to them. As it was an October wedding there were pumpkins and little spooky ornaments around too. They'd made an instax photobooth area with some face tattoo stickers that everyone, including the parents got stuck into! Everyone was then called in for dinner, which was burritos! It was such a great idea as dishes were served to each table meaning you could make your own up with whatever you wanted inside. They had speeches after the meal, which were so funny – Marks best men had planned an amazing speech complete with Star Wars graphics, and slide show presentation.

The party

After the speeches, the couple kicked off the dancing with "Walk The Dinosaur" where their friends and family joined in part way through with a fully choreographed routine, it was epic, and the dancefloor was packed all night. The DJ kept everyone entertained all evening.

I loved this Project B Croydon wedding so much. If you’re getting married and looking for a Colourful wedding photographer, get in touch. Here are the photos!
